|Welcome to Les Forges|
I hope you will enjoy this virtual tour and that it will encourage you to come and discover our commune Les Forges in person.
Created in 1883, following a split with neighbouring Lanouée, Les Forges covers more than 5250 ha (12600 acres) of which 3800 ha (9120 acres) comprise woodland, still known as the Forest of Lanouée. We are located on the border of the Côtes d'Armor to the north and bounded by the Nantes-Brest Canal to the west, and we boast no less than three rivers: the Oust, the Lié and the Ninian.
Situated as we are between forest and water, we have a rich natural and cultural heritage just waiting to be discovered: the forest itself; the château and its gardens "à la française", the old foundry furnace and the hydro-electric generating station; the port and the canal.
Les Forges is a dynamic commune too, with events throughout the year organised by our numerous associations run and supported by Forgerons young and old.
Now I hope you will discover for yourselves the merits of the commune that we believe create an exceptional quality of life.
